Habits to improve calorie control, nutrient timing, and food selection – Habit 1

5 simple habits that, if followed, will naturally lead to an improvement in calorie control, nutrient timing, and food selection. Let’s begin with the Five Habits.

HABIT 1: EAT EVERY 2 TO 4 HOURS:
Eating every 2 to 4 hours is one of the most important strategies for improving health and body
composition. Regular feeding intervals stimulate the metabolism, balance blood sugar, and help
maintain lean mass while giving the body a reason to burn off extra fat mass. Beyond the physiology, this strategy serves a very practical end. Physically active people need more calories than do sedentary individuals. To get enough food to meet their calorie needs without eating very calorie-dense foods, foods more likely to promote fat storage, more frequent feedings are necessary.
